Confession of an Asian StyleHolic

Siti Nurhaliza Satu Concert @ Istana Budaya

I was surprised by my dear someone who present me with among relatively among highest priced ticket  to watch Siti Nurhaliza Concert Satu!  It was a pleasant surprise. I don’t know how you get it because I heard that tickets sold like crazy.

Myself – my style is part tribute to MJ and part tribute to myself. Mix and match.

For the past few weeks, I keep thinking, it would be marvelous to watch Siti performing in a classy Istana Budaya. If you remember I did blog about how I can’t wait to see what Siti would wear, and last Saturday night my wish come true. To someone; you know who you are. You never failed to surprise me with all the good things. I really appreciate it! I “Heart” you… Prada or YSL muse bag for my upcoming birthday would be nice!

Frankly I am not a diehard fan of Siti but I did listen to her song (and can remember some of the lyrics!). But boy, I’m breathless and speechless. Siti Nurhaliza is an absolute performer in this sold out concert.

Love everything about the concert. The Concert Satu was inspired by the recent government campaign, Satu Malaysia. It is really SATU Malaysia because the audiences are not only Malays but other races as well. One Malaysia.

Siti, you shows that music is an important tool to unite people.

There are several segment for the concert, the opening is the beginning of Siti. Siti talks and sing about her career with medley from Jerat Percintaan to Cindai. Then, romantic time where she sings while walking between and on the carved, beautiful frame. The Geisha segment is my favourite. Siti red, flowy, long train kimono dress is just wahhhh.  Siti looks funky and edgy while dancing in one of the box in a “Showgirl Set”. Sorry Siti, but that really reminds me of “Red Light” in Amsterdam!

The “Under Construction segment” Siti walks on a set that resemble like a real construction site! There are a few supposedly ‘working men’ in safety helmet but they like a ‘dancing men” to me.

The segment that make me wanna dance is the “Russian Soldiers” segment. Her command is like “Berhenti…….” In a very manja tone; I know she is trying hard to sound like a real  soldier, but her voice is like so manja and feminine…cutelah you Siti… The dance move in this section is just spectacular!

Then the finale when everyone stands up for an ovation!

One of the moments that I will remember is when Siti talked about her experience and how she just can’t get angry directly to the rumours, those hatred groups and unfortunate events. The only way she can express herself is via her music. One of the most memorable lyrics is “biarlah dihina, itu hanya sementara, kita pasti berjaya”.  I can’t remember the exact lyric and song but that is really deep. Really, really deep to me!

My standing ovation is not only for Siti Nurhaliza but to Jakel, the fabric sponsor and also the designers, Rizman Ruzaini and Amir Luqman. Clap, clap and clap!!

Siti change like to 8 costumes but I realized she keeps wearing the same shoes (except after the Russian Soldier segment”). It is a 3 straps gold heels sandal. I wonder what. Jimmy Choo or Salvatore Ferragamo perhaps?

On the lobby, Siti past dresses was on the display. It brings back the memory. If you can name all the designers and event correctly, you get a kiss from Datuk K… sorry tersasul pulak, I mean me! You must quick because you only have 5 minutes starting from the moment I post this entry. Muahhh….

Hurry… only five minutes away from my kiss!

Lucky Siti

Who is the luckiest girl on planet earth?

The answer is Siti Nurhaliza.

She is rich, blessed with beautiful skin (I saw her skin texture live sans make up!); handsome hubby and she gets everything free of charge!

Jakel Kuala Lumpur is so kind to sponsor Siti Fabric for her Konsert Ekslusif Satu for three consecutive day starting June 26 at Istana Budaya. Fabric that I’m talking about here is not ‘cheap but beautiful fabric’ but ‘expensive and beautiful fabric’. If you’ve been to Jakel and you wonder where they put super expensive fabric, you better climb the stairs to the luxury floor. The fabric is to die for in term of quality, look and monetary! Jakel is located near Maybank at Jalan Masjid India.

Beautiful and expensive fabric must be touched only by talented and expert designer. Siti put her trust on whiz duo Rizman Ruzaini, the flamboyant Amir Luqman and Michael Ong.  Those designers will be creating pieces based on the concept of the concert.

According to Rizman; part of the duo, they will design traditional piece with contemporary touch. It has western and eastern influence and emphasizes on Malay influence. Read Rizman Ruzaini blog here.

Siti personality and songs will be the main elements in Amir Luqman couture creations.  I can’t wait to see the dress!

Personally, I think Siti far more better in fashion department now compared to then. She knows what is best on her and I strongly think she improved because of her hubby. Can you see how much her fashion sense pre and post married?

Do you know who she is? Think hard, real hard!

I am relieved those days were gone!

Bayangkanlah, artis-artis yang memakai dress yang ketat, sexy dan singkat tu semua tu naik bas.  Please imagine and let me know yek!  Via email only!

Secretary Week with Siti Nurhaliza and Kris Dayanti

Thanks to Lia (love your Paris Hilton bag) from Quality Hotel for this info.

The besties are back. BFF Siti and Kris Dayanti will rock you.  Maybe ‘rock’ is not a proper word, I mean will sing almost together again. I mean almost!

Siti is so synonym with Quality. As far as I can remember, if it is Quality Hotel Secretary Week, I will imagine Siti. She is a crowd magnet. She will perform 10 of her beautiful songs on 22 April at Pusat Pameran Dan Konvensyen Matrade, Kuala Lumpur.

The day before, on 21 April, Kris Dayanti ( dengan bulu mata palsunya) will mesmerize you at the very same stage.

I told you… they almost sing together….for ticket, call (603) 2693 9233

I wish all the best.

Siti, PLEASE, PLEASE remove the shower cap. You remind me of Alicia Key in You don’t know my name video. She wore quite similar cap too. The thing is, in the video Alicia wore the cap as a waitress. CLICK HERE!!!!

Siti, you are definitely not waitress. Take that freakin shower cap OFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I am very confused here. What is Siti trying to be? The jacket is just genuis, the costume necklace just superb, but the shower cap? I know it is kind like trend, some people look cool with that, but not this time!!

Jangan marah ye Siti, saya cakap ikhlas ye. Muka you nampak temban buat cam tu. Tapi saya suka Siti punya jacket.. perfect for your body.

Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival 2008 (KLIFF)

The above pic is me, eating like a hungry T-Rex in Kuala Lumpur International Film Festival (KLIFF) post party. I am really, really hungry after more than 3 hours in almost freezing PWTC hall. But, that is such actually a hot night.

The heat was generated from the glittering star studded festival in ‘me will impress you outfit’. The impression is not necessarily in most awesome way because some either trying to become clown or car mechanic. I believed they have their own stylist and designer, who am I to advise them on what to wear.

They are 14 awards at stake. But I am not really interested who won. Instead I am looking at what delegates from 44 countries wear and carry. I am like ahhhhh….for the ‘who design that’, mmm…..for ‘that is so pedestrian’ and ‘what?’ for please look at the toilet mirror.

Here are the some of my snapshots at the KLIFF.

Eja and me

Eja and me

Eja is so sweet. I compliment her on what she wears and she answered, ‘you like the dress? it is Bill Keith and Sarimah (KLFF host) wear Bill Keith too.” That is the reason why designers fought for Eja. She knows how to wear high fashion and with the plus factor; she market their product.

She is carrying Kate Spade oversized clutch. Eventhough I am not really into matchy-matchy  type but she did it well. Definitely a winner.

Another reason why I love Eja. She knows how to market herself!

Tanake Che. This Japanese born Taiwan based actress look sultry in long bareback red dress. Because of her two ‘female bodyguards’, no one can come near to her. During the post party, I saw her really focusing on the sandwiches and potato samosas. After this photos was taken, she back to munch AGAIN. It is true what they said, some born to be thin.
