Calvin Klein with Mr Francisco Costa

Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein is not really happy with people showing a belly when their belly is not really beautiful. Ok Mr. Costa, I got it. You mean that woman who has spare tyre is prohibit to wear cK super cute mini tank top!

Being in Gen X wave back in the 90’s, I love Calvin Klein when it is still under the man himself, Mr Calvin Klein. The pieces really define the history of minimalism trend. Every cK will be considered stylish back then.

But, things change a bit when he left the house. Mr. Francisco Costa still designs cute tops and bottoms but the impact is not as mighty as it is in last decade. It is not disastrous but a bit off track. I still buying Calvin Klein but not as excited as it is in the 90’s. Maybe I’m getting older!

Thanks to Michelle Obama, Jason Wu suddenly all over the world. He was born on the other part of the world, Taipei but now based in other part of the world, Manhattan. Everywhere, from London to Kuala Kangsar (my hometown, I know some of them know about fashion!), people must be at least heard or read about Jason Wu. Her magical dress turns Michelle into a magical first lady!

This is the power of celebrity (Michelle is a super-celebrity). It is like my friend story. His business profit sky rocketed when Erra Fazira wore his design once. Only that freaking one time and now he is driving a fancy car and staying in a fancy apartment. So designer wannabe, get that magical celebs.

In Jason Wu case Michelle is not the last. Other Godzilla fashionista in Jason Wu is Katie Holmes, wearing his Fall 2009 Collection. I just wonder, what’s that legging doing there? FYI that is not Jason Wu.

We it comes to muse, Jason choose supermodel Chanel Iman, who he said “She’s such a sweetheart. She’s very elegant and tall. I also love Jourdan Dunn, and Karlie Kloss”.

His creation is a great investment. It is seasonless. Even it is Spring 2009, it is still look good in Summer 2012. He is  producing collections that are almost seasonless. When his Fall 2009 collection arrives at Net-A-Porter in August, customers will want to wear the clothes now. He is mindful of this when he designs, producing pieces in a mix of fabrics.”
